AQUATIC COMPLEX
SYSTEMS
Orchestrating safety, structure, and spectacle for a globally recognized water attraction.
Project Context
Technical Constraints
- Compliance: ASTM F2376 & EN 1069 safety standards.
- Manufacturing: Polyethelene, flanges, and split-lines driven by fabrication limits.
- Structural: Strict load and anchoring limits for high-capacity use.
Balancing Spectacle with Structural Clarity
The client needed a visually iconic, high-capacity slide complex that delivered smooth rider performance while satisfying strict safety, structural, manufacturing, and schedule requirements.
The ride path required intuitive pacing, compliant containment, and controlled transitions. The system demanded modularity for cost control, consistent water performance, and accessible maintenance zones—all while maintaining a sleek, world-class aesthetic.
Master Model Ownership
Centralized CAD Control
Used Inventor and SolidWorks for complex master assemblies and surfacing, ensuring alignment across fabrication, shipping, and installation sequencing.
Documentation Strategy
Produced standardized interface definitions, installation breakdown plans, and certification support packages to accelerate inspector alignment.
I owned end-to-end industrial design, ensuring alignment between rider experience and engineering feasibility. My process involved progressive reviews to validate safety assumptions, access clearances, and interferences early in the design phase.
Project Outcomes
- 1Clean Transition to FabricationVendors reduced ambiguity thanks to precise BOM schemas and revision-controlled release packages.
- 2Accelerated CertificationDocumented clarity streamlined the approval process with third-party inspectors.
- 3Global RecognitionThe attraction served as a flagship reference design and gained recognition in global markets.
