Context: Bridging Industrial Design with Interior Spaces

Beyond large-scale industrial projects, I have developed a portfolio of custom interior products and space designs for both mass-market retail and high-end residential clients. This work demonstrates my versatility in translating engineering precision into consumer-facing products that balance aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.

My interior design projects span modular wardrobe systems, kitchen furniture, and decorative lighting—each designed with a focus on user experience, material efficiency, and scalability for production. These products have been successfully sold through major big-box retailers, reaching thousands of households while maintaining the craftsmanship and attention to detail expected in bespoke design.

Challenge: Designing for Scale Without Sacrificing Quality

The primary challenge in designing products for big-box retail is achieving the delicate balance between cost-effectiveness, ease of assembly, and premium aesthetics. Consumers expect high-quality finishes and intuitive functionality, while retailers demand products that can be flat-packed, shipped efficiently, and assembled without professional assistance.

For residential projects, the challenge shifts to customization and spatial optimization. Each client has unique requirements—whether it's maximizing storage in a compact urban apartment or creating a luxurious walk-in closet with integrated lighting and soft-close mechanisms. The design must adapt to existing architectural constraints while reflecting the client's personal style.

Additionally, material selection plays a critical role. Products must withstand daily use, resist wear and tear, and maintain their appearance over years—all while adhering to sustainability standards and cost targets set by retailers.

Approach: Modular Systems and Bespoke Solutions

1. Modular Wardrobe Systems

I designed a comprehensive line of modular wardrobe components featuring pull-down closet rods with soft-close mechanisms, pull-out velvet-lined organizers for accessories, and full-extension drawer slides. Each module was engineered for easy installation and could be configured to fit various closet dimensions, making it ideal for both new construction and retrofit applications.

2. Kitchen Island with Integrated Seating

This custom kitchen island design features a cantilevered countertop with integrated seating, combining functionality with sculptural form. The design utilizes a combination of natural wood veneer and solid surface materials, with concealed storage compartments and cable management for modern kitchen appliances. The geometric chair design complements the island's angular aesthetic while providing ergonomic comfort.

3. Tree-Inspired Decorative Lighting

I designed a collection of nature-inspired lighting fixtures featuring organic, branch-like forms with integrated LED nodes. Available in wall-mounted and pendant configurations, these fixtures combine sculptural aesthetics with functional ambient lighting. The copper finish and asymmetric branching pattern create dynamic shadows and visual interest, making each piece a statement element in residential and hospitality interiors.

Outcome: Market Success and Design Recognition

The modular wardrobe systems were successfully launched through major big-box retailers, achieving strong sales performance due to their combination of premium aesthetics and accessible price points. Customer feedback highlighted the ease of installation and the quality of the soft-close mechanisms, which exceeded expectations for the product category.

The kitchen island and lighting designs were featured in residential projects and received positive recognition for their unique blend of functionality and artistic expression. The tree-inspired lighting collection, in particular, garnered interest from hospitality clients seeking distinctive decorative elements.

This body of work demonstrates my ability to operate across scales—from mass-market consumer products to bespoke residential installations—while maintaining a consistent focus on engineering integrity, material quality, and user-centered design. It showcases my versatility as a designer capable of delivering impact in both industrial and interior contexts.
